The exhibition in January 2005 at Trench Gallery at Punta del Este, Uruguay, is an homage to my father and to that strong love to music he transmitted us with such strength and enthusiasm. The emotion that he felt telling us the stories of his Jazz orchestra known as “Jack Linen and his students”, with whom he had enjoyed and worked successfully between the forties and the fifties, left a strong print in me. Also did the pleasure with painting of them both, my father and my mother’s.
I have many fresh memories of those magic musical meetings with quartets or quintets in nice cafés in our family’s house with musicians of the National Symphonic Orchestra, who were family friends, and plenty of others within Sunday’s barbecues at the musicians’s houses to play music together.
Music and art pleasure constituted almost the main meaning of life for them both.
